The Colonel Crawford Eagles made history by winning their first-ever regional championship with a 43-37 victory over Lima Central Catholic in the OHSAA Division VI regional final.

The Eagles set the tone early, jumping out to a strong first-half lead with disciplined defense and efficient shooting. By halftime, they had built a comfortable cushion, but LCC mounted a furious comeback in the second half. The Thunderbirds cut into the deficit, but Colonel Crawford held firm with key defensive stops and clutch free throws in the closing moments.

This victory marks a significant milestone for the program, as the Eagles now advance to the state semifinals. Head coach David Sheldon reflected on the achievement, crediting his players for their resilience and composure under pressure.

With their first regional championship secured, Colonel Crawford’s focus now shifts to the state tournament, where they will look to continue their historic run.
